BOOK REVIEW: How To Seduce A Band Geek

Title: How To Seduce A Band Geek
Author: Cassie Mae
Series: How To (Book Two)

Description:

Sierra Livingston’s got it bad for her sister’s best friend, Levi Mason—the boy who carries his drumsticks in his pocket, marches with the school’s band, and taps his feet to whatever beat runs through his head. Sierra racks her brain for ways to impress the sexy drummer, but the short skirts and bursting cleavage don’t seem to cut it.

When Sierra gets paired with Levi’s sister, Brea, for a mentorship program, they strike a deal. In exchange for Sierra keeping her mouth shut about Brea ditching the program, Brea lets Sierra dig for more info on Levi to help get the guy of her dreams.

But when Sierra discovers Levi no longer plays the drums, his family has moved into a trailer, and he’s traded in his Range Rover for a baby blue moped, Sierra’s not sure if she can go through with violating his privacy. She’ll have to find the courage to ask him straight out—if he’s willing to let her in—and explore other ways to seduce the school’s band geek.

Review:

Oh my God this book!
This book...... was awesome! I totally loved it! I can't believe how awesome and amazing and cute and hot this book was! It made me laugh too! Sierra was so funny! She cracked me up! Sierra and Levi together too had me chuckling a lot. And they were sooooo cute and sweet and hot! I loved how embarrassed they were around each other and how much they blushed. Especially Levi was really cute when blushing! I loved him! I knew he was an amazing guy from book 1 but in this book I totally fell in love with him! He really is adorable!
I liked Sierra a lot too! She cracked me up and was cute and a sweet girl and a good friend.
I also liked Adam a lot. He really, really was the best of friends. Kind and caring and sweet.
I have a feeling that next book will be about Adam and a certain girl I can't name or it'd spoil all the fun.
Sydney was stupid, careless, hateful and a sh!tty friend. What she did to Sierra was awful. I doubt even the worst of enemies would do such a thing to another girl/woman and not feel at least a little bad about it. She was so sick in her head that she actually thought she was doing a good thing for Sierra. Right, what girl wouldn't want to be drugged out of her head and have a guy (or more than one) rape her while she's unconscious? Are you freaking kidding the hell out of me? You need help, girl. Seriously. Professional help is much needed. Your brain has gone up in smoke.
So, back to the story. I totally enjoyed it and it was oh so hard to put the book down! Even harder was trying not to laugh too loud in the middle of the night while others slept. It was a real hard challenge.
If I'd recommend this book? Hell, yes! You HAVE to read it! This book is a MUST HAVE and a MUST READ!!
Well deserved 5 stars!

Review:

Oh my God!!!! You have no freaking idea how much I loved this book!!! It also frustrated the hell out of me but I was totally in love with Rush!!! Okay, I also wanted to slap him silly for how he reacted to Nan's accident but most of the time I just wanted to kiss him, f*ck him and marry him! He's the sweetest and cutest and hottest guy ever! I swear, I think he's probably my most favorite character ever! Okay, maybe one of them, but still... God, I loved both books, but this one is sure as Hell my favorite! I am in love with Abbi Glines' books right now. And this one was terribly hot! Waaaaaay hotter than the first book! I was in awe! I wanted to slap Blaire for her stubborness and stupidity sometimes, and I couldn't help but not like Woods, even if he was helping Blaire and he was being very nice and caring, but I also couldn't help but sympathize with Rush for feeling jealous and like Woods was intruding in something very private. After all, Blaire and the baby were Rush's, not Woods' business. I loved Rush's protectiveness and possessiveness. Caveman style! Go Rush! You're the best! I love you!
I liked this book so much! I couldn't put it down! Now I don't have words to describe well this book because I'm still awestruck and I can't think straight. All I can think of saying is that I loved Rush, I loved this story, I loved this book! And you have to read this story, both books, if you ever want to feel emotions like no others!
5 stars well deserved! Abbi Glines, you're my hero!

BOOK REVIEW: Buffalo Soldiers

 Title: Buffalo Soldiers
Author: Nicholas Denmon
Series: An Upstate New York Mafia Tale (Book Two)

Description:

Notorious assassin Rafael Rontego is kidnapped from his hotel room moments before FBI Agent Sydney Price and her team close in on the man she believes can provide enough evidence to bring down the Ciancetta crime family. Meanwhile, Ivan Nivsky leaves prison after eleven years of keeping his mouth shut. Within twenty-four hours of leaving his cage behind with a vow never to return, he finds himself lost in an underworld he used to call home. With the FBI closing in and a Russian crew laying siege to the Italian family that took him in, Ivan finds himself released from his cage into a cement jungle where only the fittest survive.

Review:

I have to admit Nicholas Denmon is always one of my favorite authors. I love his writing. I love everything he writes. And he never ceases to fascinate me.
But... Why, oh why did you leave me hanging on a cliff like that?
Well, wouldn't say it was really a big cliffhanger, but nontheless it left me open-mouthed and with a burning desire to read more. So, please write the 3rd book fast! Please! I need to read it!
Back to Buffalo Soldiers:
I loved this book! I was so absorbed in it that I couldn't stop reading! I read it while having dinner, I read it while having a bath, I read it in bed at night until I fell asleep for exhaustion, I read it while having breakfast, I read it while having lunch, I read it on my laptop and on my smartphone too!
I can say I probably liked this book even more than "For Nothing".
All this considering this is not usually my genre. Usually romances, vampires and demons are my favorite reads. But for this author, for these books, I had to make an exception. They are too good not to read them! They are so good that it didn't matter what genre I was reading. It had all I need in a book. Action, blood, fights, tension, suspense, investigations, kidnappings, escapes, some romance too after all, and fascinating characters.

Although in "For Nothing" Alex was my favorite character (well, okay maybe I was even a little in love with him) and I was also kind of disappointed that he wasn't a very active character in Buffalo Soldiers, I found it also kind of right after all, because it had to make room to some new characters, like Kira, Ivan, Sydney, Briggs, Uncle Dick and others.
Let's talk about Kira: I can't say I totally liked her, especially in the beginning, treating her friends like shit and everything. But she's a kickass heroine like the ones I use to like in my favorite books after all, so she wasn't that bad, just kinda cold, but understandable seeing the life she had and the way she was raised. And I got to like her in the end anyway.
Ivan: Nice character. At times I liked him, at other times I didn't. He wasn't that bad though. He did what he did to survive after all. That was his life. His world.
Sydney: Not the kickass I'd have liked to see, but still a hardass. She's strong and tries to do always her best. Though she seemed kinda naive at times maybe. Guess we'll get to see her in the next book? Maybe with Alex too?
Briggs: I didn't like him from the start. He didn't convince me. He was a weird character. I knew something wasn't right with him, though I didn't want to admit it because Syd liked him. Oh, well.
Uncle Dick: SOB!
Rafael: I really liked him in this book. Much more than in "For Nothing". And I loved the "forced alliance" between him and Kira. They made a great team.
I liked Bobby too.
The Black Widow: I wanted to kick his ass (and not only that) and shut his damned mouth for good! Irritating SOB!
Missing someone? Oh, well, they probably didn't impress me much.
I was sorry about Charlotte... although in "For Nothing" she really got on my nerves, and I didn't like her much, I was sorry for Alex. That part was really sad, together with what happened to Ivan.

So, 5 full stars for Buffalo Soldiers and 5 full stars for Nicholas Denmon.
Highly recommended book. This is a MUST READ. You just can't miss this!

Review:

** spoiler alert **
A WARNING TO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HAVEN'T READ THIS BOOK YET: THIS REVIEW IS A LIVING SPOILER!!!

First of all, I start with saying that this isn't my usual genre. It was my first attempt to read a mafia book. Usually I try to avoid even mafia movies, though some I have seen (some bad, some good), like Donnie Brasco, it was a very good one (and Johnny Depp also got me so bad! Can you blame me for watching it?). But this book was A M A Z I N G !!! It really got me hooked and I was glued to the pages (virtual, since I was reading an epub).

My favorite character was Alex (obvious!): he also reminded me a little of Donnie Brasco/Johnny Depp. An undercover cop, pretending of being a mafioso. And I found him sweet, determined, loyal, a good friend, good at heart... I loved him! I couldn't help but feel desperate with him when he found Jack's lifeless body... and feel so so sad for him when his wife Charlotte rejected him... and everytime he dreamed or remembered about past moments with her and their little girl Ella... it almost made me cry... (ok, I admit, once I have cried!). And then also when he thought of the times spent with Jack... I felt so sad :( And loved every desperate moment! Masochistic me, yeah, I know!

I also found myself loving some of the bad guys! I really didn't think I would have! I'm a good girl! But Sal and Jimmy weren't that bad after all... right? Oh well, doesn't matter.
It pained me, though, when Sal died. And what a death! Poor guy! Almost burned to death! It was heartbreaking when he begged Alex to shoot him. And I felt for Alex too. It showed he cared for Sal after all. Because he really wasn't that bad of a guy. It even pained me when Sal found out his son had died.

Another scene, among many, I liked was the fight that came out when the assassin, Rafael, got to Wizeguyz. God that was a hell of a bloody fight! Loved every second! Yes, I am a weird girl. So what?

About Rafael, the assassin... well, thre's so much to say, I don't know where to start and how to say it.. Some times I didn't like him, other times I thought after all he wasn't that bad... He even kinda "loved" a woman once... Maybe still loves her somehow... But he really is one of the bad, bad guys. So... not much to love about him, anyway...

The end... The end was WOW! I already knew it wasn't really the end and there's a 2nd book coming out soon. I knew it was unlikely that they caught the real assassin. But the way the assassin made clear his presence... made it clear he was still around... watching Alex and his family and his friends... I haven't seen that coming. It was unexpected. And creepy. And surprising. And amazing!
I can't wait to read the second book!
Nicholas Denmon is really an amazing writer! He always surprises me. Nothing was expected.

I enjoyed this book veeeery much!
And I recommend it to everyone!
